I have a C-2G that I pull the signal out of the amp they told me how to send out, for the moment, to a Line 6 Roto-Machine pedal you might want to consider getting one as well, using a full-up laptop with B4 installed just to get the Leslie effect out of it seems like swatting a fly with a sledgehammer IMHO — you can demo the sounds at the line 6 website.
There will be a set of terminals on the back of your amp that you can tap the pre-amp signal from. I just looked at my M-series service manuals, and although I don’t have anything on the M , i see that the M came with at least three different amplifier options. Find out which pre-amp and amp you have on yours, if you can, before you post to the list, it is possible that the terminals on each amp might be slightly different.
How to hook up to B4? You need to be able to digitize that M output signal and get it to B4.
Noticed that when the Leslie is hooked up and the Hammond has the AC line plugged in, you can get a small shock from the Hammond’s chassis and the Leslie’s amplifier, even if the power is not on (it just has to be connected to the wall).
He was disappointed, however, with the sound in his home compared to the large showroom where he originally heard it. Consequently, he attempted to design a speaker to overcome this. He initially tried making a cabinet similar to Hammond’s, but soon concluded that pipe organs produced a spacially varied sound because of the different location of each pipe. He set out to emulate this by making a moving speaker. He tried various combinations of speakers and speeds, and discovered that a single one running at what’s now known as the “tremolo” speed worked best.
After further experimentation, he decided that splitting the signal into a rotating drum and horn helped accentuate bass and treble frequencies. Laurens Hammond, however, was not impressed with Leslie’s attempt to better his own organ design, and declined to market it. The audio signal enters the amplifier from the instrument.
Once amplified, the signal travels to an audio crossover , which splits it into separate frequency bands that can be individually routed to each loudspeaker.

May 12, · Hammond Organs Discussion in ‘The Sound Hound Lounge’ started by VibroMan, May 10, Page 2 for a lot of people the sound of a Hammond Organ is the sound of the Leslie. If you get something from the A series you’ll probably want to consider picking up something to use for a Leslie. You can easily mod them to hook up to a Leslie.
A – best in its class “The best B-3’s are A ‘s” – now what does this statement mean? It points to the fact that a Hammond A organ is in fact the exact same organ as the legendary B-3, and then some. The cabinets of the A models were all, with one exception, tailored for home use: No locking top, built-in speakers and reverb, and a wider selection of wood finishes and stylings.
Also, the slimmer profile of the A cabinet especially the ‘plain Jane’ A model is prefered over the B-style cabinet for taking on the road. A quick history review The first A organs were produced in They had the necklace type reverb as found in contemporary Hammond Tone Cabinets. The A was the first tonewheel console with built-in reverb.
In the early 60’s a few more models of the A theme were issued, the French Provincial A and the spiffy ‘Contemporary’ A Also, the C-3 cabinet was adapted to contain the A speaker system, creating model A complete with a locking top. In late the last two models, the A in Patina Walnut and the the Early American A , were issued and in the A series was discontinued.

Description Leslie simulator for guitars, keyboards and other signals. The swirling, lush sound of a Leslie speaker has been applied to almost every instrument one can think of, including the human voice. Engineers and tinkerers everywhere have always come up with ways to “hook up a Leslie” to their Guitar, Violin, Horn, or Vocal Mic.
The Leslie Leslie Pedal is a rotary speaker simulator by the people who know rotary speakers better than anyone. The patching scheme allows for stereo or mono operation stereo is recommended. This pedal goes great in a guitar pedal board, but it is also good for synth organs when you want an authentic Leslie reproduction. The Leslie Pedal overdrive is true to the character of a vintage Lesliespeaker, primarily used for Hammond organs. As is the case with music, there are no unbreakable rule with this pedal, so try vocals, saxophone or theramin through it, and see if you can derive some engaging sounds that serve your compositions.
Controls include the classic Leslie Brake, which emulates the stopping of the Leslie rotor. It is incredibly effective. Just like an original Leslie control pedal, the Leslie emulation can spin slow, fast or be off. A true bypass is included as well. Mix and level knobs adjust how pronounced the effect is and how much of it is mixed with the original signal. A sweet, singing overdrive is built into the pedal as well, which comes in particularly handy with guitar signals.
